Most European destination wedding guides assume you're planning a standard two-day celebration. South Asian weddings don't fit that mold.
You need to know whether a venue allows outside caterers because authentic South Asian food is non-negotiable, and most European kitchens can't deliver it. You need clarity on noise curfews, mandap policies, and whether a venue has ever accommodated a baraat before.
We've asked all of it, so you don't have to.

Each country is scored on the six criteria that matter for a South Asian wedding — outside catering, noise curfew, mandap space, guest rooms, SA planner availability, and budget floor. Use the scorecard to narrow your shortlist before diving into individual venues.

Spain has more venues covered than any other destination in this guide, from Sitges on the Costa de Garraf to the Costa Brava and Tenerife. Masia Casa del Mar in Sitges is the only venue in this guide with a fully free outside catering policy. Penha Longa Resort in Portugal (Ritz-Carlton, Sintra) has a full in-house Indian wedding catering programme. All pricing shown is indicative and based on direct research conducted by Shaadi Abroad in 2026.
The single biggest advantage Spain offers South Asian couples is the variety of venue types within one country. You can have a clifftop resort wedding in Tenerife with ocean views and indoor backup spaces, a whitewashed hacienda near Málaga with no noise curfew, or an 18th-century Catalan estate outside Barcelona with its own vineyard and 24 bedrooms onsite. The point is you're not locked into one aesthetic.
The climate is the other major factor. Spain averages over 300 days of sunshine a year in the south, and Tenerife specifically has an eternal spring climate — meaning an April wedding carries very little weather risk. That matters when you're flying 150 people to one location and cannot afford a washout baraat.
On noise curfews: This varies enormously by venue and municipality in Spain. Finca Amalur near Marbella and Villa Almanita in Sitges both list no noise curfews. Gran Meliá Tenerife has indoor backup spaces that extend the evening. Always confirm the exact curfew time in your contract — don't rely on what a sales manager tells you verbally.
We focused our Spain research on Tenerife and the Costa del Sol, as these are the two regions with the clearest SA wedding infrastructure. The Tenerife section includes detailed research from a direct venue enquiry.
The most comprehensively documented venue in this guide. A real quote exists for a 150-guest 3-day Hindu wedding at this property, broken down line by line: €3,000 for the Oasis Restaurant on Day 1, €6,000 for the Ocean Terrace on Day 2, €6,000 for the Infinity Gardens on Day 3, plus food and beverage at €80–100 per person per event. The Hindu buffet on the main wedding day is specifically priced at €100/pp, confirming that SA-specific catering is something their kitchen actively offers rather than improvises.
The realistic all-in for this venue — once you add decor, a mandap build, entertainment, photography, and a planner — sits in the €160k to €210k range. Accommodation is the largest single cost and most couples treat guest rooms as a separate expense. Contact Dana Kordinova directly for a personalised 2027 quote.
An elegant mansion venue minutes from Málaga Airport with — critically — no noise curfew. That means your sangeet can run as late as your guests can stay standing. The open catering policy is the other major advantage: you bring your own SA chef, which solves the authentic food question immediately and gives you real cost control over the biggest budget variable.
A private hacienda surrounded by panoramic mountain and sea views, with 10 double bedrooms onsite for the bridal party and immediate family. The bring-your-own caterer policy is the defining advantage for South Asian couples — authentic food without the compromise. The venue sits in the hills above the Costa del Sol, which means a natural stage for an outdoor baraat and ceremony without the noise restrictions that apply closer to town centres.
Spain's cost range is the widest of any destination in this guide precisely because the two regions — Tenerife and Costa del Sol — sit at different price points, and within each region there's a spread from private fincas to five-star resorts.
If your priority is a luxury resort with full service, multiple event spaces, and the reassurance of a large hotel team, Tenerife (Gran Meliá or Ritz-Carlton Abama) is your pick — but budget €160k+ all-in. If your priority is value, authenticity, and no noise curfew, a finca near Málaga is likely the better call at €90–120k all-in.
The planner question: Spain has a vetted SA wedding planner featured in this guide with full proposal details, fee ranges, and contact information. Full details are available inside the guide.
We spent months contacting venues, requesting proposals from planners, and building the research that every South Asian couple planning a European destination wedding has to do from scratch. Then we put it all in one place.

Every venue was contacted directly in 2026. The Gran Meliá quote is from March 2026. Planner fees were received in writing in 2026. Estimated costs for venues that don't publish pricing are based on comparable venues and market rates, clearly labelled as such. Prices change — always confirm directly before signing anything.
That's exactly what the guide is designed for. The budget comparison section and destination overview pages are built specifically for couples still deciding. Most buyers use the guide to shortlist two or three destinations, then use the venue contact details to request their own quotes.
All the venue information applies regardless of guest count — the noise curfew, catering policy, and mandap rules don't change. The budget figures will scale accordingly. The tracker can be used for any size wedding.
Yes. The practical venue information — outside catering, noise curfews, multi-day capacity, mandap space — applies to any South Asian multi-day celebration. The planner directory includes planners experienced with both Hindu and Sikh weddings. Where something is Hindu-specific, it's labelled as such.
